High-Bandwidth Current Controller for Actuator

Final Design Problem for ‘Analysis and Design of Feedback Control Systems’, taught by Professor Trumper in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, at MIT

Design and build controller for fast tool servo actuator. Target design requirements:

  • crossover frequency of 700,000 rad/sec (111.4 kHz)

  • phase margin of minimum 60 degrees

  • for 10 V input, achieve steady state coil current of 6 A.
